USA survey for anyone who wants to improve Denver TMAU test

begun : Dec22
end : no ending for now

A trainee genetic counselor is working at the Denver TMAU test lab. Probably as part of her training. As a project she wishes feedback on any aspect of the Denver TMAU test and process. You can fill in the survey and/or email her (email address is in survey). It's meant for USA people, but perhaps others can give their view too (as we have so few opportunities).

quote from her rareconnect post

"Hello all! I wanted to make you aware of a research study being conducted to better understand the experience and needs of individuals with trimethylaminuria with a goal of being able to create improved patient and healthcare provider education materials. Any participation is completely voluntary and all responses remain confidential. Feel free to use the contact information within the link with any questions or share the survey with others with TMAU."

Using Windows Moviemaker to record audio/video

moviemaker for body odor start>all programs>accessories>Windows Moviemaker

A powerful way for the body odor/halitosis community to express themselves/communicate/raise awareness or just have fun etc, may be by making their own videos or audio recordings.

A lot of people do not know how to record on computers. One option for recording would be using the Windows Moviemaker program that is installed in Windows XP.

The good news is, it's easier to use than you think :)

Example instructions on how to record audio.

For Windows XP:

To only record audio:
plug in your mic
open Windows Moviemaker: (start>all programs>accessories>Windows Moviemaker)
click on the 'mic' icon

to record: click start
to stop: click stop
it will then show a box to save it

by default it will save your file as a 'narration' and save it to the 'narration' folder'
to save it to your desktop instead:
click on the desktop icon on the left-side of the box
you can save it as 'narrartion' or change the file name to anything

it will be saved in WMA format, which you can now send in an email or post somewhere etc
you can do all sorts of things with moviemaker
e.g. add one or more photos to the audio
edit videos/audio
add titles/effects

You can recite your own poetry with pictures or do whatever you want. We look forward to seeing what you create :)

useful tip: when about to open moviemaker, right-click instead and choose 'send to desktop'.

Helpful screencaps below:
