Jess and I would love to invite you come meet with us and all the other South Floridians to our South Miami Beach Meet-Up on Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd and 3rd, 2009, and to our road-trip through the Florida Keys from Miami to Key West and back on Wednesday and Thursday, May 6th and 7th.
The Florida Keys are connected by bridges, the longest being 7 miles over the water. One of the wonders of this trip is that as you go south, the Atlantic Ocean is to your right, and the Gulf of Mexico is to your left, so you can see the sun rise and the sun set over the water if you stayed long enough. You see mangroves and smaller outer keys that are not connected by bridges and that you can only get to by boat.
The Florida Keys have a culture all it's own. It's very laid-back, away from mainstream USA, and definitely beats to a slower pace. Key West has a mixture of people from various walks of life, who share a unique lifestyle that blends in with the architecture of the Historic Section of the Key, with its quaint restaurants and shops.
I would have loved to have taken many more pictures of Key West, but I had to leave earlier than expected.
I hope I did it justice, though I know I came short.
Enjoy!
