Trimethylaminuria (TMAU).”
One of MEBO Research directors has received and email from a representative of the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) informing us that a group of four scientists, a government-funded renowned institution, and a private institution, Trinzyme (UK) Limited ("Trinzyme"), have been awarded £358,000/GBP for the preliminary phase (the first 2 years) of research into “Therapy for the body and breath malodour disorder Trimethylaminuria (TMAU).” To put this into perspective, this is equivalent to €432,403/EUR, or $577,167/USD. This is more than half a million US dollars! This is a potential therapeutic treatment for TMAU, under a collaborative academic-company funded grant initiative.
WE NEED TO RAISE £100,000/GBP
This is a Delivery of Patient Focused Care and Services (DPFCS) co-award with a a prominent government-funded institution and with Trinzyme (UK) Limited, a private Limited company created by the Scientist, Tamara Nicolson, PhD, for the scientific group. This means that Tamara will have to come up with funds and some 'in kind' services as the representative of the private industry. 'in kind' services are co-paid or given in goods, commodities, or services instead of money. So, even though all 4 scientists, with the help of other two very prominent physicians with TMAU patients, are involved in the research, MEBO Research is very happy to work with Tamara to raise the £100,000/GBP funds to cover the 'in kind' services and costs through Trinzyme (UK) Limited. The sooner this fund is raised, the faster the research can get underway.
More information will be forthcoming soon about Trinzyme, the company. This post is about its Founder, Tamara Nicolson. Tamara Nicolson, PhD, has significant and impressive pharmaceutical experience as a scientist, and she is now totally dedicated to this research project. She is currently dedicating all her time, effort, all her work to this project - her heart is in helping sufferers above all!
CrowdFunding site with Indiegogo: This site has been created by one of our scientists to help raise funds for this research! You are welcome to use this or any of the other tools to donate towards this very valuable research.
