RAISING AWARENESSIN THEMEDICAL COMMUNITY
Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine Better Outcomes Through Better Diagnosis |
MEBO's Scientific Director and member of MEBO's Institutional Review Board, Dr. Irene Gabashvili, PhD, has informed us of an organization, the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM), that can help us raise awareness in the medical community. Dr. Gabashvili tells us that in case anyone is interested in sharing your symptoms with medical librarians, we can participate in a pilot program entitled, "Expert HealthSearch."
The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) is committed to ensuring that diagnosis is accurate, timely, efficient and safe. Through a pilot program entitled, “Expert HealthSearch,” SIDM is seeking to connect patients with medical librarians who can help them find evidence-based information about their symptoms.
Raise Awareness: Participate in survey
We are interested in talking to patients who have seen a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician's assistant about their symptoms in the last 6 months but whose symptoms are not improving. We prefer to interview patients who are at least one month into the diagnostic journey. All personal health information will be kept confidential.
Participants in the program will receive an evidence-based report on the symptoms that are troubling them. In return, participants must agree to complete a follow-up survey to assess how this information has affected their subsequent diagnosis or recommendations for treatment.
If you would like to be part of this pilot program, please complete this brief online survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZDPLG3D. Patients who meet the criteria for inclusion will be contacted by a medical librarian to discuss their symptoms in more detail. Enrollment in this free, the initial program is limited.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact info@improvediagnosis.org

Please tell us a little about you.
All sufferers from around the world are encouraged to participate in this survey as we join together to Raise Awareness so that someday, any sufferer can go to their physician and receive proper and prompt treatment.
