It seems Sheffield aim to have the TMAU urine test running by early 2017.
Other UK NHS Metabolic test labs may also start running the TMAU urine test.
The Sheffield NHS lab, currently the only UK source of the TMAU phenotype/urine test, had to suspend the test recently due to a technical fault.
They have contacted tmau.org.uk to update us.
It seems the lab hopes to have the test running again in early 2017.
It also looks like other NHS metabolic test labs may look to offer the TMAU phenotype/urine test. This includes the UCL Hospital in London, where Dr Robin Lachmann's TMAU patient unit is.
There are about 15-20 NHS Metabolic Test Labs around the UK.
So from a moment of despair in the UK TMAU test program, the future is looking even better on the TMAU urine test front in the UK.
The recent campaign to raise concerns about this may have been a factor in this outcome.
