USA survey for anyone who wants to improve Denver TMAU test

begun : Dec22
end : no ending for now

A trainee genetic counselor is working at the Denver TMAU test lab. Probably as part of her training. As a project she wishes feedback on any aspect of the Denver TMAU test and process. You can fill in the survey and/or email her (email address is in survey). It's meant for USA people, but perhaps others can give their view too (as we have so few opportunities).

quote from her rareconnect post

"Hello all! I wanted to make you aware of a research study being conducted to better understand the experience and needs of individuals with trimethylaminuria with a goal of being able to create improved patient and healthcare provider education materials. Any participation is completely voluntary and all responses remain confidential. Feel free to use the contact information within the link with any questions or share the survey with others with TMAU."

MEBO Needs Your Financial Support

If you are unable to attend
the MEBO Annual Conference/Meetup in Memphis,
or to donate time
to help with any and all programs of the MEBO Mission,
Please consider supporting MEBO RESEARCH through a donation.

Precisely because of the strong volunteer services rendered by the MEBO Directors, many experts who have volunteered countless hours to teach and guide us, and others in our community around the world, your donation goes a very long way,
since donations do NOT go towards compensating volunteers
for their work.

Just look at some of our accomplishments with almost no funding,
and consider all that still needs to be done!

Many MEBO volunteers throughout world work arduously on a daily basis to carry out MEBO's programs, including but not limited to the following:
  • Exploratory Research Studies, such as the Alveolar Breath Exploratory Study by Menssana Research, currently in the initial data analysis stage after acquiring breath samples in Chicago, Miami, New York, and London for a period of one year. In addition, other new project developments that are in the works,
  • The low cost, MEBO International TMAU Testing Program,
  • The MEBO Annual Conferences/Meetups in Nashville (2010), Washington DC (2011), Miami Beach (2012) and Memphis (2013), which always cost MEBO a few hundred dollars to rent the meeting room and print handouts, which are later shared with the international community in the MEBO Blog for all to benefit from.
  • Uniting Sufferers and Experts Campaign: It is noteworthy that all the powerpoint presentations, interviews, and handouts written for the MEBO Annual Conference/Meetups have been donated by experts. None have been paid for their very generous time-consuming work to educate us and to help up fundraise.
  • This MEBO Blog that is updated with new information numerous times a week by volunteer workers.
  • Raising Awareness Campaign that brings the film, "The Boy Who Smells Like Fish" to the meetup, and articles written on professional journals, such as the review paper compiled by MEBO, Dimethylsulfidemia, British Dental Journal, and Karen's article in the Oxford Journals, InnovAiT.
  • And all the volunteer sufferers that have bravely put their face in the public spotlight telling their story to the press that are published in newspapers and magazine articles as well as on TV programs.
The more people who volunteer their time and their treasure to our cause, the sooner research is carried out, the sooner new diagnoses are discovered, the sooner effective treatment is designed, and the sooner sufferers begin to lead normal lives...It's as simple as that! Thank you for your support!
